ADDING UP AND TAKING AWAY

In our classroom children make up sums and subtractions and they read them in English. At the same as doing this, we are also making shapes with  plasticine which is a useful tool in their motor development.

LEARNING ABOUT DIFFERENT COUNTRIES AND CULTURES IN ENGLISH PLAYHOUSE

This month we have been learning about different countries in Europe. We have learnt some countries and their corresponding flags, and now we are learning about some of the typical hobbies of people from that place. Last week we looked at Ireland, so teacher Severine thought it would be fun to learn about rugby.

TAKE A GUESS AT WHICH ANIMAL IT IS

In year 1 we have been studying the farm animals, the noises they make, and the products that they produce, for example wool, eggs and milk. To develop our understanding of these concepts and practise rational thought we work with riddles, where the children listen to a description of a surprise animal and have to take an educated guess at which animal it is.

Look how well they know the animals!

WOW! WE PLAY SUDOKU IN ENGLISH!

In our English class, Year 3-D like to learn English at the same time as practising maths problems. One of our favourite ways to do this is playing sudoku! It is a great way to get us thinking in English.

Here you can see how much fun we have.
