WHO CAN YOU SEE IN THE POSTER?

With each of our different units comes a different story, different songs, and a different poster to help us visualize the new vocabulary in real settings. Here you can see how some children from Year 1 practise using the poster with the teacher in their classroom.

THE IMPORTANCE OF PHONICS

As you know from the parent´s meeting last night and from having seen other videos on the blog, at Entreolivos we are studying phonics as part of our Magic Dragon English project. Learning the sounds in English is really important for us as we grow and our mouths develop, and by starting now we are getting a huge advantage and making the most of our natural ability to produce almost any sound imaginable. By learning these sounds within the context of words we are improving our pronunciation, working on our vocabulary, and, of course, having lots of fun!

PLAYING WITH PHONICS IN THE PLAYGROUND

As you already know, this year we have begun to learn and play with phonics. As we are still so young, we have a number of huge advantages compared to older learners, and learning phonics really helps us to exploit this. With the MAGIC DRAGON PHONICS PROJECT and teacher Severine we are learning not only to improve our pronunciation, but also how to identify the sounds within different words. One of the ways in which we do this is through games, and today we decided to play outisde.
